Lifeplanr ("we", "our", or "us") is a life planning progressive web application (PWA) that helps you visualize and plan your life across 90 years. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to your data. By using Lifeplanr, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Lifeplanr is designed with a privacy-first approach. By default, all your data is stored locally on your device using your browser's local storage. No data leaves your device unless you explicitly opt into cloud sync.

If you choose to create an account and enable cloud sync, we collect:

• Google Auth information: your email address, display name, and profile photo (provided via Google Sign-In)
• Life planning data: calendar entries, journal entries, life phases, events, people/relationships, financial data, travel plans, health data, and any other content you create within the app
• Account preferences: your selected theme, notification settings, and app configuration

We do not collect any data beyond what is necessary to provide the service.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide and improve the Lifeplanr service. Specifically, we use your data to:

• Store and sync your life planning data across your devices (if cloud sync is enabled)
• Authenticate your account and maintain your session
• Provide the household sharing feature (if you choose to use it)

We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Your life data is yours alone.

4. Cloud Sync & Firebase

Cloud sync is entirely opt-in. When enabled, your data is stored in Google Cloud via Firebase (Firestore). Key details:

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
• Data is stored in Google Cloud's secure infrastructure with encryption at rest
• Access to your data is restricted to your authenticated account
• You can disable cloud sync at any time, reverting to local-only storage

5. Household Feature

Lifeplanr includes a household feature that allows you to share selected data with family members or other people you invite. When you use this feature:

• Only data you explicitly choose to share is visible to household members
• You control who is invited to your household
• You can remove members or leave a household at any time
• Shared data remains subject to this Privacy Policy

6. Payment Data

Payment processing for Lifeplanr Pro is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never store, process, or have access to your full credit card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment details.

We only receive and store:

• Your subscription status (active, cancelled, etc.)
• The last four digits of your card (for display purposes)
• Billing dates and plan type

7. Cookies & Analytics

Lifeplanr uses minimal cookies and tracking:

• Essential cookies: used only for authentication and session management when you are signed in
• No third-party trackers: we do not use any third-party advertising or tracking scripts
• No cross-site tracking: we do not track your activity across other websites

We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (such as page views and feature usage counts) to improve the service. These statistics cannot be used to identify individual users.

8. Data Retention

• Local data: data stored locally on your device persists until you clear your browser's local storage or uninstall the app
• Cloud data: data stored in the cloud is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated cloud data is permanently deleted within 30 days
• Backups: encrypted backups may persist in our backup systems for up to 90 days after deletion, after which they are permanently removed

9. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Right of access: you can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
• Right to rectification: you can correct any inaccurate personal data
• Right to erasure: you can request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
• Right to data portability: you can export your data in a machine-readable format
• Right to restrict processing: you can request that we limit how we use your data
• Right to object: you can object to the processing of your personal data

10. Data Export & Deletion

Lifeplanr gives you full control over your data:

• Export: you can export all your data (entries, events, people, finances, and more) at any time from the app's settings. Exports are provided in standard, machine-readable formats
• Deletion: you can delete your account and all associated cloud data from the app's settings. Local data can be cleared by clearing your browser storage. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone

11. Children's Privacy

Lifeplanr is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Effective date" at the top of this page
• Notify you via an in-app notification or email (if you have an account)

We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we protect your data.
